Tree removal in New Braunfels
Over the roof, over the fence, out of the back corner nobody can reach. Sectioned, lowered, chipped and gone.
When a tree has to come out
Sometimes it is obvious — the trunk split in the last storm, or half the canopy went brown and stayed that way. More often it is a slow argument you have been having with the same tree for two years: roots in the drive, limbs on the roof, a lean that gets a little worse every spring.
Things worth calling about:
- Dead, dying or hollow trunks, especially near the house or the drive
- A lean that has moved, or fresh cracked soil lifting on one side of the root plate
- Storm damage — split leaders, hanging limbs, bark torn off a main stem
- Trees planted too close to the foundation, the septic field or the fence line
- Cedar and hackberry crowding the trees you actually want to keep
How the take-down runs
The first thing that happens is somebody looks at it. Where the tree can be laid over safely, it gets felled in one piece — quickest and cheapest. Where it cannot, it comes down as a sectional removal: the climber works from the top, and every piece is roped, lowered and cut small enough to carry out past whatever is in the way.
Beds, fences, pool coping, sprinkler heads and the neighbour's roof all get accounted for before the first cut. Brush runs straight through the chipper; the rounds go on the truck.
What the yard looks like after
Raked. Chips off the grass, ruts avoided where the ground is soft, and the stump either ground below grade the same visit or left flush and clean if you want to think about it. If you would rather keep the wood, say so before we start and it gets stacked where you want it instead of loaded.

Live oak, post oak, red oak, cedar elm, pecan, hackberry, Ashe juniper — the Hill Country mix. Oaks get treated differently: any cut we make on one is sealed immediately, because that is how oak wilt spreads in this county.

Can you get a tree out of a small back yard?
Usually, yes. A tree with no room to fall comes down in sections from the top, roped and lowered piece by piece over the fence or the roof. It takes longer than felling, and that is reflected in the quote.
Do you remove the stump as well?
Stump grinding is a separate line on the quote because it is a separate machine, but the same crew does it and most people have it done at the same visit.
What happens to all the wood?
Brush goes through the chipper and the rounds go on the truck. If you want the wood kept for a fire pit, say so before we start and it gets stacked instead.
There are power lines over the tree. Can you still take it?
Tell us that on the phone. Work near the service drop to a house is a normal part of the job; anything touching primary utility lines has to be reported to the utility first, and we will tell you which one you are looking at.
